ChemCon opens additional cleanroom facility

In the year of its 20th anniversary, the German drug substance manufacturer ChemCon GmbH opens a new production laboratory. This week the new, state-of-the-art cleanroom was put into operation. Simultaneously with its opening, the first project moved into the new facility for immediate production.

ChemCon specializes in the contract development and manufacturing of rare but often life-saving substances for medical applications. Today’s core business is the synthesis of organic drug substances. However, founded initially as a specialist for highly potent bioinorganic drug substances, the company maintains a strong competence in inorganic chemistry. Polymers are also manufactured at ChemCon. With this exceptionally broad range of chemical expertise, the service provider is able to manufacture various drug substances as well as excipients, delivery agents, diagnostics, medical products, or dietary trace elements according to the strict production regulatory of pharmaceutical products (cGMP, current good manufacturing practice). Ultrapure fine chemicals are also part of ChemCon’s production service.

The new production facility allows ChemCon to react even better and faster to the growing demand in customer-specific contract manufacturing. In a few weeks, ChemCon will also open a new development laboratory at its Freiburg site. Both for production and development facilities ChemCon invested in state-of-the-art laboratory technique. This ensures the continuation of producing high-quality products according to cGMP as well as maximum safety of laboratory staff.
