Funding of the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg by the Fonds der Chemischen Industrie (FCI)

For the construction of a multifunctional electrochemical test stand, Prof. Dr. Ingo Krossing is given the sponsorship of the Fonds der Chemischen Industrie by Dr. Tobias Pacher (Chemie.BW Educational Policy, Training and University Marketing) and Dr. Raphael Vogler (CEO ChemCon GmbH). Dr. Vogler represents the chemical industry here in his function as a board member of the VCI regional association BW.

The Chemical Industry Fund of the German Chemical Industry Association annually invites applications for topics to promote university education in chemistry, chemical engineering and related disciplines. Universities can apply for this funding on a topic-specific basis.

This year there were two topics determined by the responsible board of trustees:

  • Establishment of aspects of the circular economy in chemical engineering education.
  • Promotion of chemical engineering in the field of electrochemistry.

A total of twelve universities and five colleges nationwide will receive funding totaling almost € 350,000. In addition to the university in Freiburg, the universities in Ludwigsburg and Mannheim in Baden-Württemberg were also considered.

ChemCon GmbH is pleased that university research and industrial application can go hand in hand through the work of the VCI and Chemie.BW. Especially the University of Freiburg is very close to the Freiburg company. Not only the common location but also the roots of the company come from the educational institution. The founders of ChemCon GmbH formed the company as a spin-off from the University of Freiburg. Many employees of ChemCon were allowed to enjoy their education here.
